“Unicorn Coffee House”, inspired by FRIENDS the T.V. shows’ famous hang out Central Perk. With the cozy setting and the owners' friendly welcoming faces, you can’t help but feel like you’re amongst friends.
After being unemployed for months and spending most of that time watching the T.V. series FRIENDS, Walid and Gaby decided to make a place similar to Central Perk. After 6 months of hard work and all of it being handmade, using Walid’s interior design skills and Gaby’s knack for business, Unicorn was born.
Their handiwork sure paid off, the place is interestingly decorated. Every corner you look is different; something always grabs your attention. To add to it, the shop’s modest size and choice of furniture (they also have a big orange couch) helps in making it cozy, while still maintaining enough space to study or just chill with friends. The shop’s customers are of all ages, teachers, students, and couples. There is an outdoor area as well that is just as nice and separated for smokers.
Their handiwork didn’t stop there; they run the place with no extra help, except the customer’s self-service. Gaby makes the drinks and there are plenty of choices coffee and non-coffee based, to meet your preference. Walid, using his passion for cooking, makes a variety of mouthwatering desserts. You just can’t look at that triple layered cake covered in chocolate and not want a piece, so I suggest leaving your diets at home. Unicorn also sets themes, once in a while, using specific music and desserts (Lebanese Week).
Walid and Gaby are both friendly people, who will greet you with a smile and make you feel welcome. Whether you want to hang out with friends, study or just have a great cup of coffee, you should give Unicorn Coffee House a shot.
