Fly

Fly is a summer-only restaurant and bar that offers the complete fun package without missing a beat. Set on the rooftop of the Downtown Beirut Virgin Megastore building, this is your ultimate trendy hang-out with a view. A perfect spot both for a romantic date or a friend get-together. Catering to a slightly older crowd (30+) than other bars in town, the atmosphere is sophisticated and chic.

The musical selection played is usually a clever mix of  “loungy” melodies earlier in the evening with more commercial pop beats later at night. Whether you’re there for a drink or for a full-on dinner, you are not likely to be disappointed. The international cuisine served is good (try the steamed shrimp dumplings) and  the cocktails are fresh and unique. Service can be slow at times, specially during the weekends. Be sure to book ahead as the place gets packed pretty fast after 9pm. As an alternative, head there for an early Aperitivo drink, Italian-style. You can enjoy watching the sun set on honking drivers while you thank your lucky stars you flew above traffic.
