A place to see and be seen, Myu has made a name for itself since opening in the trendy nightspot of Gemmayzeh. Famous for its excellent cocktails (the Lychee Martini is one of the best in town) and delicious menu (do not miss their Pain Perdu under any circumstance), it has become somewhat of a true cult with a regular following. Expect to mingle with a chic crowd, to be dazzled with high heels, designer clothing and Lebanese women’s unparalleled sense of fashion at this Beiruti hot spot. For maximum impact, be sure to visit Thursday-Saturday. But Myu is not all about the glitz and glamour as laid-back customers seem to blend it perfectly in the ambiance.

That’s how good of a chameleon the place is is. Get passed the stern bouncer (that frown will turn upside down after a few visits where you would have earned the title of “regular”), and you enter a dark tunnel of a bar that will not fail to impress. The chic industrial feel of the place is reflected in its design and black color scheme. The space is divided into a bar area where seating is the lucky prize of those early birds who arrive first and a candle-lit dining area complete with floor-to-ceiling glass should you wish to enjoy a meal looking out on the bustling street.

And what a meal it will be! Myu is one of the few restaurants/bars in Beirut who has managed to offer consistently exquisite food since its opening. While many venues seem to have erractic quality, expect Myu to serve up reliably mouthwatering concoctions. If you’re looking for the epitomy of cool minus the arrogance, look no further, Myu is the place for you.
