Contemporary Art Gallery

In 1996 Mark Hachem opens his first contemporary art gallery in the heart of Paris, on the Place de Vosges. A second gallery followed eleven years later, when Hachem inaugurated his Madison Avenue location in New York.

Today the spotlight is on BEIRUT, where the latest addition to Mark Hachem’s triangle of galleries opened in June 2010.

Since the successful opening of the Beirut gallery, Hachem’s engagement with the currents of the Middle Eastern market has captured pioneers such as Lebanese photographer Samer MOHDAD and painter Mona TRAD DABAJI along with influential Syrian artists Ahmad MOUALLA, Sabhan ADAM, and emerging artist Yaser SAFI. Also aspiring digital artist Ricardo Mbarcko.

Over the past 2 decades the gallery has captured prestigious artists and initially distinguished itself from other Parisian galleries by its interest in Kinetic art. Mark Hachem has exhibited prestigious artists of the op art movement, such as Vaserarely, Jesus- Rafael Soto, and Cruz Diez. However Hachem’s passion for art spans a wide array of currents and styles. The gallery has show cubist and neo-expressionist works, and art from Ecole de Nice, amongst others. Notable artists whose works have been on show at the gallery include Pablo Picasso, Arman, Cesar, Christo, Mauro Corda, Silvers, Fernando Botero, Matta and Perez Flores.

The gallery takes part in prestigious contemporary art fairs around the world Basel, Beijing, Chicago, London, Paris, Maastricht, New York, Miami, Palm Beach, Shanghai, Moscow, Dubai and Istanbul. With more than 200 exhibitions to his credit, Mark Hachem Gallery has acquired a robust international reputation for its dynamism and professionalism.

An ardent defender of contemporary art, Mark Hachem is also an adviser to public institutions and private collectors. Mark Hachem is a member of the French Association of art galleries.
