New York deli meet Mar Mikhael
Here, a roast beef sandwich is not just a roast beef sandwich. Here, classic deli food takes a culinary twist. Roast beef served with arugula, pomegranate and horseradish dressing. The usual turkey cheese surprises the taste buds with tangy, salty, locally sun dried tomatoes in each bite.
The Food Dealer sees a regular lunch crowd. At marble tables many sip on the popular green smoothy: avocado, kale, kiwi and other leafy veggies pack a vitamin punch. Salads from chicken quinoa to salmon and pink peppercorn are served in modern metal bowls with a slice of freshly baked bread. If you aren't up for eats the spot's relaxed vibe makes for a good place to sit with a cup of coffee and book for a few hours.
After munching on a little something check out the fine selection of products for purchase. Lining the walls in industrial style shelves you can fine a nice gift for a dinner party or a speciality item for home. Bio rice flour to Lebanese honey to Nikka whiskey. The long glass counters display finely selected cheeses, cured meats, fruits and home baked breads. Be ready to pay a pretty price for their delicious treats.
Unlike the regular Beirut happy hour the Food Dealer offers something with a little more oomph. The regular Wednesday night "aperiitivo time" is from 19:00-23:00. Drinks and tapas are served while a DJ spins their favorite tunes. Check their Facebook page to see who's spinning at the table.
