Zouk International Festival 2016
In 1974, at the age of 6, Jihad won an estimation prize in a musical recital from the occidental conservatory for the “Tournament of the Genius Kids”.
Through hard and consistent work with his private teacher, studying musical notes and playing the violin for 12 hours a day, Jihad found the way to express his feelings through music. Thus, the long journey to fame and success began, from humble beginnings and little resources. With a passion for solo playing as a means to channel his thoughts and emotions through a unique style of playing the violin, Jihad achieved great success and recognition. The influential chief editor of the leading magazine of the times Achabbaka, Mr. George Ibrahim El Khoury, nicknamed him “The Magician Violinist”.
Jihad Akl captures his listeners with a mixture of both pleasure and surprise at the astounding new styles he produces with each new album. The love he feels for his music and arts can be heard in his notes and performances through his magical violin.
