Finger food at its best
Here’s a trivia question for you: how many tastes do we humans have? Most of you will probably guess salty and sweet, right? WRONG. Bitter, Sour and ….Umami are the other three. Best described as a “pleasant savory” taste, Umami is (kind of) the Japanese word for delicious. It also happens to be the Lebanese word for delicious; that is, since Umami finger foods has set up shop in Mar Takla, Hazmieh a few months back. This small catering business is the brainchild of Maya and Suha, an architect and videographer by trade and finger food geniuses by design.
Umami ‘s kitchen is specialized in unique “pocket sandwiches” made of freshly baked bread and filled with the most exquisite ingredients you can dream up. From Roasted chicken and mango, to goat cheese and beetroots to tuna and avocado lemon, their concoctions burst with flavor. The pockets are beautifully presented in rectangular wooden boxes that are returned after use. Professional and on-time, the Umami team is as accommodating as they are inventive. Custom-made pockets tailored to every client’s are also available (including vegetarian and vegan options) The one down side? The prices are steep. Be sure your pocket can handle these pockets!
