The Oak is an archetypal, if not quintessential, barhopping destination for The Village.
The Oak is another bistro pub unique to The Village’s upper deck where several new establishments cater to au courant clientele. Sandwiched between radiant bars with luminous displays, just past the dimly lit outer deck, patrons find a slightly more down-to-earth atmosphere. With that said, don’t expect The Oak to relax away your weekday stressors. Its narrow interior and in-house DJ give the venue a bustling and lively edge. There is also a small rooftop terrace from which customers can enjoy a birds-eye-view of The Village without paying extra fees for a VIP lounge.
True to its name oak woodwork features prominently at the bar and the surrounding seating, which is highlighted by a dark, stony-charcoal color scheme. Owner Rashad Mouawad says that the concept was inspired by his memory of an oak tree at his village home throughout childhood. If familiarity was the theme he had in mind, he hit it on the nose.
This bistro pub could casually fit in among other boozed-up nightlife hubs such as Hamra or Mar Mikhael. Aside from the cocktail menu with tropical profiles designed around fruit flavors, The Oak is an archetypal, if not quintessential, barhopping destination for The Village. For those that want to play it safe but still want to liven up their evening, The Oak might be what you’re looking for.
