I revisited popolo again with a large group of friends and the experience was better.
The staff are helpful and cater our requests fast and with a large smile.
We ordered a huge selection of appetizers, salads and mains.
The bread basket came wrapped and had focaccias and grissini as fresh as they should be!
The truffle fries are still a hit, very tasty and addictive!
I ordered the grilled calamari too bad it was chewy a bit over cooked.
I tasted the fish risotto and as the squid ink one it is really the best risotto I had.
All the plates were beautifully presented, and the group was satisfied with the taste and portions.
The dessert selection leave nothing to envy!
Just if you can watch the cooking of sea food as the rubbery taste was not pleasant.
It is a cool location if you are looking to try different italian dishes.

My previous experience is below:

As part of zomato meet up we tired a sample menu at the newly opened resto popolo in ain mraysi
The location is fine i found the lighting a little bit dim, and the decoration average, the good thing however is that the way the tables were distributed it gives each one its privacy.
The service was ok some of the waiters looked untrained they seemed a bit lost but overall they are nice.
We were welcomed by the bread and grissini that came in an enveloppe i didnt like both very bland and the balsamic is way too sweet
For starters we got truffle potatoes extremely delicious, the cheese truffle balls and fried calamari were average.
The eggplant rolls were too heavy and the tomato sauce lacked seasoning same problem with the beef carpaccio and the sea bass tartare the plates lacked peps in them. The burrata was delicious.
The breasaola salad was ok but the artichokes one was so good especially the puree used as base i really loved it the most.
The pizza in three versions were average. The mains were the beef slices which came again bland as for the veal escalope it was fine but the tastiest was the squid ink risotto the citrusy back taste was so special.
The proposed dessert was the calzone it was ok.
Overall i was not impressed by the plates presented for tasting. More attention should be accorded to the seasoning of the plates that look so appealing with an amazing presentation but the taste disappointing.
Lets c how they will improve
