Latifa el Hachem Tary, is a Lebanese Designer. After her graduation from Ecole des Beaux Art - La Rochelle, France, Latifa, with an inner challenge of transforming pewter into pieces of art, started working on several private projects in the Gulf. Later, Latifa turned her passion into a full time job by launching her workshop in 2002 under ELTJ Group sarl. Soon after, the Latifa- Art brand, famous for turning simple pewter into works of art, was born.

Latifa-Art is an Oriental-Occidental mixture. “Latifa” is an Arabic feminine name means in French “Gentille” and in English “Gentle”. The name has many descriptions like gentle, nice, good and pretty, which are essentials for being creative to dive deep into art. We chose the white color to emphasize on the transparency and clarity of the name.
 
“Art” is written in red to emphasize on passion and warmth that brings art at our customers place. Black is for the authenticity and luxury.
 
For the slogan "Brings Tradition into Life”; as Pewter, mainly used for table ware in the Middle Ages, was later on slowly substituted by porcelain and glass, remains one of the artists’ favorite material due to its particular suitability for handwork. Today, pewter is mainly used to produce artifacts and decorative items.
 
As art has no identity, no limits nor age, neither boarders nor frontiers, you feel that only the sky is your limit; Latifa-Art, a mix of traditional and modern art was born.
 
The concept behind the line is to bring the tradition of pewter to life by making more people familiar with this material. This is why she brings modern elements into her designs. The style is a mix of traditional and modern, and each creation is a one-of-a-kind piece with a finishing worthy of art.

For the time being, her products exist in her showroom at Jal el Dib, Cross Monastery Old Road, SANAYA Bldg, GF, Hilton Hotel – Sin el Fil, and Mémoires du temps – Byblos Old Souk.
