The Bullet and the Bandage: A Free Movie Night with MSF

Free movie night at Metro!

This event has finished

One year ago, on Saturday October 3rd, 2015, the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Trauma centre in Kunduz, Afghanistan was hit several times during sustained bombing by US-led coalition forces.
The total number of dead is known to be at least 42, including 24 patients, 14 staff and 4 caretakers.
As armed conflict and violence continue to spread, MSF teams face increasing challenges in their attempts to provide essential medical care.  The protection of health staff, health structures, and patients in conflicts granted by international humanitarian law is not respected. In the past two years alone, our teams lost patients and colleagues in both targeted and indiscriminate attacks that have damaged and destroyed medical facilities in countries such as South Sudan, Yemen, Syria, and Afghanistan.

The difficulties facing MSF pale in comparison to the reality of life in war for people trapped in brutal conflict.
On the evening of October 4th, MSF invites you to Metro Al-Madina for a free public screening of a selection of MSF short films from the field as well as a feature-length documentary focuses on medicine and war. Films are in English or have English subtitles.

MSF is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare in nearly 70 countries around the world. MSF offers assistance to people based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. Our actions are guided by medical ethics and the principles of neutrality and impartiality. MSF funding for its medical activities comes from millions of individuals around the world, not governments. To  find out more about how you can join MSF, go to: www.msf-egypt.org
