Right from Argentina to Beirut, Live at Metro al Madina
Thanks to those devilish loop machines Santiago Córdoba (the powerhouse percussionist behind Tango Nuevo sensations Violentango) has emerged as a multi-instrumental pioneer of yet another ground-breaking style, deconstructing the roots of tango into electro-acoustic ambient explorations steeped in his Buenos Aires heritage.
Santiago Córdoba, an Argentinian percussionist of the well known Violentango, has put on a different set of skins and strings to perform his solo concept "Corso“: a kaleidoscope of various percussion instruments, loops, samples, piano, guitar.....but most of all his musical soul itself.
His music is thoroughly composed, well structured, yet sometimes surprising in breaks or sudden interchanges, held together by a general elegance, a light pulse and Santiago`s intense way to play.
This seasson he is in Beirut composing the music for a theatre piece " A Ticket to Atlantis" by Lina Issa & Mayar Alexan.
Thanks to this we will have the opportunity to hear his new sounds from Buenos Aires in Metro Al Medina on Tuesday 13th September, 9.00pm.
