Cookielicious

The cookie is not much of a Lebanese dessert. Granted. You can’t consider a cookie to be part of Lebanese culture. True. And that’s the part of globalization we love. We don’t have to take everything in but that’s an invention that needs a visa. Pronto. Into Lebanese territory. Hell, we think the cookie should be visa-exempt. Like the Maldives. Because it’s just that good. 

If you’ve  ever had a hankering for freshly-baked chocolate-chunk cookies, you’ll understand how thrilled we were to discover Cookielicious. Newly opened in Hamra, Cookielicious is a small shop that specializes in all-things cookie. Don’t be put off by the rather chaotic display. Plastic boxes, randomly-dispersed containers in the tiny green and pink venue don’t exactly scream dessert heaven but stick with it and you’ll probably be the wiser for it.

Offering more than a dozen varieties, their names alone will make your mouth water. Example: Nutella Lava cookie, Quadruple Chocolate Fudge cookie, Snickers cookie, Kinder cookie and Oreo balls.

If you’re looking to watch your waistline, this is the time to stop. Watching it we mean. Indulge in these tasty treats and make sure you ask for them to be warmed up. The gooier the better. Beware, however, of a sweet intoxication. Though you may want to channel the cookie monster within, stick to one or two cookies at a time as their sugar content is anything-but subtle.
