After a two-year delay Beirut finally has its own Cheesecake Factory, and the wait has been worth it.
Sure, you may have had something called cheesecake from your local patisserie, but a well-placed order at the Cheesecake Factory will surely redefine your expectations for this delicious dessert. Heavier and richer and than the lighter and more gelatinous French versions, New York style cheesecakes may not be as ornately decorated but what they lack in presentation they make up for in flavor. That’s true of not only the restaurant’s refrigerated confections but the rest of the menu’s surprisingly well-prepared entrées too.
This famous international brand nearly opened in Lebanon two years ago in the City Center mall, but those plans were canceled in favor of establishing a stand-alone location. Today that decision appears to be well worth the delay. The Cheesecake Factory’s massive dinning room and patio can hold a total of 320 people and employs 28 hosts and 90 servers to cater to customers needs. These wait staff personnel always welcome their guests with a smile and a professional disposition that makes for one of the more cordial dinning experiences in Beirut.
If you’ve encountered Cheesecake Factory branches throughout your travels before you can expect a similar level of food quality in Beirut. All of the cheesecake and most of the food is created in the United States according to factory standards and frozen before being shipped to locations around the world. American style burgers and even meatloaf can be enjoyed in the mellow dining room atmosphere. With the US menu comes US portion sizes, which justifies the cost of the food. Other cuisines like India, Thai and Mexican are also available. On Sundays the restaurant opens an hour early for brunch.
While the large menu provides lots of options for debate, dessert should be a foregone conclusion. There are over 30 cheesecakes to choose from with even gluten free and low carb versions. The Oreo Dream Extreme is the best selling so far, but if you want to eat like a real cheesecake connoisseur you should try the Strawberry Cheesecake first. Trust us, you wont regret it.
