Plan Bey

This gallery and bookshop offers Lebanese art, art books, photography, posters and other works by local and international artists. The products stem to a large part from its own workshop and production unit and are sold in the Boutique. In Beirut these works are exclusively available in Plan Bey (Korridor No. 33 in Copenhagen and B/B multiples in Berlin are the only other galleries cooperating with Plan Bey, so if you missed on your trip to Lebanon you might get an other chance there.)

Lebanese artists Rafik Mazjoub's drinking Trilogy and other artist's books, Hand printed cards by Mazen Kerbaj, Calligraphy by Samir Sayegh, and Graphic Novel's by Alex Baladi or Barrack Rima are only some of the works available.

Prints depicting the works of numerous artist, from the 70s until today and posters from the 1970s International Baalbeck Festivals are some more of the interesting treasures that can be found at Plan Bey.
Beyond these art works, a collection of unique notebooks (called Pictogram handmade by Karma Tohmé) bridges the divide between art, craft and for-use-item.
This little place is definitely worth a visit, if only to browse, to pick up worthwhile postcards to send home, or a more serious encounter with the Lebanese art world.
