Cedars of Jaj

A small but impressive cluster of Cedars well worth the hike

A 40 minute drive into the mountains from Byblos heading towards Laqlouq, you will find a small grouping of Cedars at Jaj.  There's a small 20 minute hike from where you will park your car and walk up but it is well worth the visit.  A small number of grand and majestic Cedars are set amongst some incredible views of mountains and sea. There is a little chapel within the small forest cluster of the trees, and if you're lucky to be alone, it's a perfect place for meditation and reflection on the Biblical days of Lebanon and past civilisations that have crossed and exploited these lands.
