Al Balad (Downtown)

Offering innovative Lebanese cuisine, Al-Balad is still going strong.

Open since 1999 in the heart of Beirut, Al-Balad restaurant introduced the concept of Lebanese dining in a casual atmosphere. Judging from its expansion in Lebanon and the Middle East, we’d say the strategy was a success.

Al-Balad preserves Lebanese traditions in each of their delicious recipes, which are based on the most innovative combinations of the finest ingredients. Try their spicy Hummus, Batata harra or one of their daily specials. You will invariably recognize the familiar look, name and flavors of Lebanese cuisine but will probably uncover a surprise ingredient or an unexpected combination that will leave you delighted and thinking: “why didn’t I think of that?!” (that is assuming you can cook).

The place in Downtown is cozy with a small indoor seating area and casual outdoor seating. Service is efficient and the prices affordable. This is the kind of staple establishment that you can safely bet on for a pleasant Sunday lunch if you’re in the mood for a Lebanese with a kick.

Their wining formula is based on tasty “Lebanese fusion” cuisine, a charming setting and convivial staff. You can enjoy Al-Balad in any of their three branches in Downtown, Jounieh and Dbayyeh.
